Relationships and Stock Market

When the love stock actually fluctuates.

The age old photo of Bombay Stock Exchange always catches my eye on the daily news. Inspite of all the archaic pillars and saline breezes,it still remains an important active  national monument which humorously stands for stability, security, finance, growth, resilience etc.

Today when I speak about love, relationship and  infatuations. In the modern world one simply questions that is one’s life actually any different from the almighty stock exchange? The average erudite men and women providing impeccable service to the country during work hours, during breaks- the underhanded pink slips, guilty numbered paper rolls, cigarettes etc pass amongst the just romantically jittery  hubby texted hands in the labyrinthine cash flowing passages of our nation.  For some of these employees, the loud verbose yells or the well-chosen cuss words is an adrenaline rush waiting for a channel of subtle moans and throngs of vertebral arced pleasure. Sometimes the shares which you left at night have found a rather drastic movement in the morning. While there are other times where you have vouched days , months  or years of experience to the same company - analysing , studying and accounting their trends, booms etc .but it doesn't get boring. That's the magic of the stocks , the building , the people, the currency it's all the same. But each new day in the loud hustle and bustle grants us an interesting view . In a person's life there are some company's which don't leave the top 20 position for years. While there are others , unfortunate and financially destute. Hardly affecting the economic personality of the nation any longer. Every investor starts small, but getting a TATA, L&T , Reliance , Mahindra etc stock at a young age is a blessing in disguise because this portfolio will achieve gorgeous wonders and not some frivolous one time trade benefits.

The world is bordering towards capitalism. After a domestic metaphorical rant of life and stocks let’s move on to the global frontier. The New York share market, London exchange share the famous Trans Atlantic relation. A strong cable embedded in the deep recesses of the ocean. Then there are they other markets in Tokya, Dubai Singapore etc. Decades ago we didn’t even know if there would come a day in our financial careers when indigenous share prices would violently fluctuate based on a slow counting freeworld  elections. The common situation where spouses have their own ambitions to follow doesn’t leave much space for romance in their lives. Maybe a monthly Forbes cover or Wall Street journal in the drawing room and a Romcom novel just beneath the newspaper is the new way of adjusting and providing space to each others thoughts and moods. One can’t do much without money these days, regardless it is a gospel that one should not be too late to spend that money, better be extravagant in your personal interests rather than being heartbroken over falling interest rates.

While one approaches the topic of shares one must approach the topic of mutual funds. India has witnessed a prime social change from shagun riches and Dahej gold to shares portfolios and mutual funds. Moreover there’s a redundant advertisement of mutual funds and market risks, it does deliver a chuckle on perfect recitation.

In India steamy affairs and financial crimes make the newspaper headlines. It could be Mr Mehta or simply a typical Bollywood drama both have an engrossed audience.

Moving towards the diverse inference. Many people believe that love is baseless it just happens. These are the same people who believe that investing in markets is similar to gambling in poker. That’s where the new generation stands with a different stance. With an increase in start-ups and entrepreneurships the 21st century is the dynamic era of big data, AI, bio-informetics, econometrics etc. There’s evolution in all fields. There is an algorithm to predict best matches for your dates and there is an app to count your daily water intake, moving on we have websites which continuously monitor the share price. The next time your phone pings it could simply mean a tinder notification or a stock market alert. Concluding I go back to my original statement that though human emotions are a far cry from corporate life let’s just take a moment and ask ourselves the question, is it really so?

The irony of relationships, one person sells and other one buys...somehow they both think they are astutes. In the 2020 love is not just Romeo and Juliet or Ram and Sita .... pious and sacrificing. Love is a scarce resource stock. Wildly fluctuating and  demanding. Simply saying it is too hard to bear the loss it incurs or be hypnotized by the price it bull-ys and yet be patient enough to not let it get out of your sight.

New Horizons

Planet certiorari Station 3459 E-14 entered the station, her shoulders drooped and sweat covering her temple. She slugged to the bar. Her eyebrows were slightly creased and her face contorted in a frown. She was tired of this. The star was going to explode any time now. Four years ago, when she became Galactic Soldier, she vowed to protect her planet, Raenyara, her people. Back then, their task was to find another planet for the people. The radiation hit the Raenyara much before they anticipated, and as expected, the chaos unsure. Few people survived, and she was amongst them. Her people were now refugees. With alliances falling apart, no other planet wanted to take a risk by offering shelter to them. And those who did refuse to abide by the galactic law, treating the refugees worse than servants. The poor people had to accept it, otherwise, the would-be dead. The rich didn't escape from that fate. Slowly, their reserve of the currency came to an abrupt end. Only ultra-rich were ...

Are Apples Really Red?

Colour: Are Apples Really Red?   A simple way to answer this question would be to say that, “ Apples are red because I see them red.” But wouldn’t that be a really naïve way to answer such a profound question as that, not likely to quench any educated human’s curiosity. Hence, our little aim will be to stride progressively in the direction of undermining our incomplete foundation of colour theory and rebuild it with a tinge of universal wisdom.   To begin with we really need understand the question – “ What is Red? “. A layman’s definition of the colour red would be – “ Red is the colour of an Apple “ and why shouldn’t it be. Right from the early sweet days of our kindergarten years we have been hammered by this impeccable statement to the point that we never really think of red’s independent existence or eternal origin. However the Oxford dictionary defines red as “A colour at the end of the spectrum next to orange and opposite violet..”.  Let’s stick to this def...

The Alchemist- Book Review

It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.                                      The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho     I preface my review by saying I am amazed how wildly passionate people are in their feelings toward this novel of whether they love or hate The Alchemist. I’m one of those people who love it. But, I understand why people are so passionate in their dislike of this work. Paul Coelho looks to inspire passion in people with The Alchemist. And he succeeds in doing so especially in those who are so passionate in their dislike of this book.   The Alchemist is a novel that combines an atmosphere of medieval mysticism with the voice of the desert -- dreams, symbols, signs, and adventure follow Santiago and the reader like echoes of ancient wise voices. With this symbolic novel Coelho states that we should not avoid our destinies, and u...
