SCENE 2 :  OFFICE MEETUP

On a bright Saturday morning, Fabien dressed into some fine formal clothes and readied herself for the upcoming appointment at Rehan's office. The appointment was scheduled at noon so she had plenty of time in her hand to get done with her work and prepare a questionnaire for Rehan. Apart from the business, it was her small secret motif that impressed the male. Hence, she adorned herself with a precious jewellery set which consisted of a pair of shiny ruby ear-rings, a heart-shaped pendant necklace and a pearl ring. Along with her white formal dress and a hint of French rose perfume she looked nothing less than a maiden beauty. Punctually, she reached his office on time. On the way, she had faced curious glances from many men but she had simply ignored them for that was but a trivial matter for her currently and innerly she only felt positive that she was looking splendid. Letting her hanging curls behind her ear, Fabi pushed open the door of his office after his assistant had asked her to enter. "May I come in, Mr.Cree?" She asked, her cheeks flushing a bit after seeing the male..

Rehan had entered his office hours before she had, welcoming his coworkers with an easy smile. The sun had peaked through his large windows, illuminating his office with a warm orange glow. For a good minute, Rehan just stood there before getting onto his computer to return some emails he had received that morning. Clicking away, the hours passed by quickly. The sun was now a bit higher, though was cancelled out by his bright lamp and ceiling light. He had gotten word from his assistant that Fabi would be coming into his office in a few minutes, so he finishes up his emails so that wasn’t distracting them during her appointment. Once she had peeked her head inside, Rehan’s eyes met hers with a curious look. His brows were raised, and just from seeing her upper body he knew she had dressed up, which pleased him. ”Ah. Fabien. Glad you made it on time.” His attire was nothing less than disappointing. His hair was slicked back and put in a tight bun, strands of hair sneaking out of the neatness and resting gently on his forehead. His suit jacket was a deep navy blue, his tie a red and white striped pattern. If you looked hard enough, it would almost seem as if the male was wearing a slight bit of makeup, as cheekbones had this interesting shine to them. There were no bags under his eyes, despite the fact that he had slept horribly the previous night. ”There's no need to ask, as you’re already inside.” He pauses for a moment before motioning for her to take a seat. ”I assume you have prepared something for you to present?” The man asks, his brows still raised.

"Yes, Indeed." She beams gladly and rests herself in the seat. Her eyes wander across the room noting the wonderfully designed office which showcased Rehan's interior designing skills. Her attention was instantly catched by the black vase of flowers placed in the corner. "I have made some sketches of designs that would suit the hallway.." She hesitantly handed over a couple of bundled drawing papers wrapped with a rubber band. "They are not much but at least something to start with.." While Rehan reviewed her drawings, Fabi couldn't help but stare at his long neckline, his hanging hair and his pretty eyes which were busy studying the drawing sheets. Leaning on the table, she quickly unbuttoned the top most button of her shirt without letting him notice, it was true that it was a bit warm in the office but seducing him was also on her mind. One could briefly see her red coloured bra from the place where Rehan was seated. Her lips and cheeks had grown reddish and her eyes moist just by looking at him. "They will be needing much improvement, I suppose..?" She asked, once he was done.

Rehan’s eyes traveled across the pages, quite impressed with her sketching. His lips curved into a slight smile, though he gets back into his business persona and sets the papers down. His eyes did skim towards her unbuttoned blouse, though he had learned to resist urges and his eyes were kept above her collarbone. ”These are nice, I’m glad you’ve come up with multiple ideas so choosing wouldn’t be too simple. But, I just want to make sure you’ve got your scaling right? How about pricing? What is the theme you’re looking for? I might be able to eliminate some options to find the best choice for you.” He says calmly, the man’s eyes glancing towards his watch. He hadn’t checked the time since she had gotten here. ”Also, you have the surface area of the hallway, correct? Getting your calculations is the most important detail. It’d be a shame if you had gotten furniture that was too large, or too small.” The man states, pausing before realizing he had been rambling. ”Oh, it would appear I have talked a bit too much. In short, yes, we will need many improvements.” He said, chuckling at his large mouth.

"Right! I have got the surface areas and scaling here on this Blueprint. It's accurate as per my knowledge, but it would be nice if you rechecked it..." Fabi handed over him a folded smooth blueprint of the hall and hallway which was accurately drawn. "As far as the pricing goes, I think the owner’s of the Villa (Richard & Karano) would be able to afford luxurious plans.. After all, the income from the Villa lodges have been really strong.." She declared giggling a bit. A sweet smile had spread across her dimpled cheeks since he had commented on her good sketches. She noticed him checking his watch and did the same to check if it had been too lengthy an appointment. But about only half an hour had passed since she had been here. Not knowing the average time of his appointments, she decided to get done with this quickly in case he had other pending plans. "I can wait till you narrow down the best plan for me... I shall get going now.." Fabien gave him a smile before pushing her hair back and closing her purse to stand up. It was late afternoon outside and one could see through the window that the evening birds were already spreading their wings against the setting sun. A cool breeze set in lifting Fabi's skirt up a bit and swaying her loose hair..

Rehan slightly nods, fixing up his tie as he looks her way. ”I’ll head over sometime this week. Goodbye.” He says, eyeing her as she walks out the door. Upon seeing the door close, he lets out a quiet sigh and pulls out his bun, running a finger through his hair right after. The man stood, walking over to his written calendar and crossing the ‘meeting at 8:00 AM’ out. He eyes his office before heading back over to his desk and pulling out cleaning wipes. He grabs one and wipes down his desk and the glass coffee table near the other side of the room. He had a few more meetings this morning and afternoon, though he tried to schedule them near the beginning of the day as he needed to get his workout routine out of the way. As The day goes on, he gets through each client until the sun had risen high above his corporate building. He glances at the clock, tidying up his office once more before grabbing his things and leaving. Rehan soon heads to his car, now heading towards the villa as there was a private gym there. After a few minutes, he arrives and walks inside. At first, he strolls inside the hallway without glancing around. Upon reaching the living room though, he turns around and sneaks a glance that way. A smile creeps onto his face before he makes his way to his room to change.

........To be continued..

New Horizons

Planet certiorari Station 3459 E-14 entered the station, her shoulders drooped and sweat covering her temple. She slugged to the bar. Her eyebrows were slightly creased and her face contorted in a frown. She was tired of this. The star was going to explode any time now. Four years ago, when she became Galactic Soldier, she vowed to protect her planet, Raenyara, her people. Back then, their task was to find another planet for the people. The radiation hit the Raenyara much before they anticipated, and as expected, the chaos unsure. Few people survived, and she was amongst them. Her people were now refugees. With alliances falling apart, no other planet wanted to take a risk by offering shelter to them. And those who did refuse to abide by the galactic law, treating the refugees worse than servants. The poor people had to accept it, otherwise, the would-be dead. The rich didn't escape from that fate. Slowly, their reserve of the currency came to an abrupt end. Only ultra-rich were ...

Are Apples Really Red?

Colour: Are Apples Really Red?   A simple way to answer this question would be to say that, “ Apples are red because I see them red.” But wouldn’t that be a really naïve way to answer such a profound question as that, not likely to quench any educated human’s curiosity. Hence, our little aim will be to stride progressively in the direction of undermining our incomplete foundation of colour theory and rebuild it with a tinge of universal wisdom.   To begin with we really need understand the question – “ What is Red? “. A layman’s definition of the colour red would be – “ Red is the colour of an Apple “ and why shouldn’t it be. Right from the early sweet days of our kindergarten years we have been hammered by this impeccable statement to the point that we never really think of red’s independent existence or eternal origin. However the Oxford dictionary defines red as “A colour at the end of the spectrum next to orange and opposite violet..”.  Let’s stick to this def...

The Alchemist- Book Review

It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.                                      The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho     I preface my review by saying I am amazed how wildly passionate people are in their feelings toward this novel of whether they love or hate The Alchemist. I’m one of those people who love it. But, I understand why people are so passionate in their dislike of this work. Paul Coelho looks to inspire passion in people with The Alchemist. And he succeeds in doing so especially in those who are so passionate in their dislike of this book.   The Alchemist is a novel that combines an atmosphere of medieval mysticism with the voice of the desert -- dreams, symbols, signs, and adventure follow Santiago and the reader like echoes of ancient wise voices. With this symbolic novel Coelho states that we should not avoid our destinies, and u...
